Everyone has heard the words, "green", environmentally friendly,
conservation, reducing the carbon footprint, and sustainability. As
the marketplace embraces the "earth friendly initiative", it is
necessary for the supply chain, service providers, etc, to
understand the direction the market is headed and how to participate
and be successful.
Where: Sheraton Airport Plaza, Charlotte, NC
When: Tues, February 12 and Wednesday, February 13, 2008
The Synthetic Yarn and Fiber Association (SYFA) and the Fiber
Surface Group (FSG) of American Fiber Manufacturers Association
(AFMA) have worked together to obtain speakers for the 2008 Winter
Conference. The
Conference theme is "Sustainable Is Attainable:
Redesigning The Textile Industry.”
We have secured some of the
major market leaders for sustainability representing the various
segments of the marketplace.
The Winter Conference is pleased to have as the keynote address, Ray
Anderson, Chairman of Interface Inc.
A New York Times article earlier this year states “Mr. Anderson
has turned into perhaps the leading corporate evangelist for
sustainability.”
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/22/science/earth/22ander.html
Along with Mr. Anderson there will be speakers from Ford Motor
Company, Patagonia, Steelcase, Wal-Mart, Inc. and Dow Jones just to
name a few.
A complete agenda and conference registration will be mailed within
the next couple of weeks. Due to the significance of this conference
and the excellent list of speakers, we encourage you to
"save the date" as we
anticipate the conference to fill quickly and space may become
limited as the conference dates approach.
To secure your space prior to the formal announcement you may
contact Kim Pettit at the SYFA office:
(704) 824-3522 or
kpettit@thesyfa.org.
